Is Murrieta Ranch an academic school? Are the children going to learn anything? Are they going to play all day? Are you going to prepare them for Kindergarten?
Answer:
We believe that, for overall age-appropriate cognitive development, all activities the children will experience have a learning component.
For example: The fingerplay “Five Little Monkeys Sitting In A Tree” develops the following age-appropriate skills:
- fine motor development
- memorization
- rhyming
- vocabulary
Daily activities such as story time, music, creative art, science, language arts, finger plays, circle and group time, animal care, free play time inside and outside, and socializing are the building blocks for your child’s overall school success. These contribute to your child’s emotional, social, and intellectual development.
Question:
Do the children have a chance to interact with the animals?
Answer:
Inside some of the classrooms, there are fish, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, a turtle, and a snake. In our large playgrounds, we have ducks, chickens, goats, and mini horses. The children will learn about the responsibility and care of all animals. During their outdoor playtime, the children will help feed the animals and make sure that they have fresh water. Be sure to stop by our office and say “hi” and *wave* to Big Bird, our blue-and-gold macaw (she loves visitors and will wave back).

Are appointments required for school tours?
Answer:
Tour are now available Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment. Tours last approximately 20-30 minutes. Miss Barbara will take you on a tour of the entire school and will describe our philosophy, curriculum, and daily activities. If you like what you hear and see, we recommend putting your child on the waiting list at that time. Children are welcome to come along for the tour.
Question:
I heard that your waiting list is over a year. Is this true?
Answer:
No, not necessarily! We enroll throughout the year so, if you are on the waiting list, you could get in immediately or when a spot becomes available shortly thereafter. When your child is two years of age, we recommend taking a tour and being put on our waiting list. This will give you a very strong chance of receiving the placement of your choice once your child turns three.

Are you hiring qualified early childhood professionals at this time?
Answer:
Due to the fact that we have very little turnover, we are not presently hiring. However, we are always looking for good substitutes, so please feel free to stop by and pick up an application. When positions become available, we will post employment opportunities online.
